And a recent interview by Game of Thrones star Maisie Williams has confirmed this fact.
Things She Hates About Herself
While speaking on the Happy Place podcast with the interviewer Fearne Cotton, Williams became very candid and revealed some very personal details about the state of her mental health.
This comes at a time when Game of Thrones, the show she has worked on for eight seasons, has recently concluded, offering Williams plenty of time to reflect upon her career as well as her emotional health.
According to Williams, she has developed a habit of counting the things that she does not like about herself and the ways she can resolve them. She also revealed that she is now inclined towards living a more private life, away from the spotlight that has been shining upon her since a very young age.
This desire to move away from all the attention was the first thing that Williams said on the podcast interview, which means it is a very firm belief that she now harbors.
While she didn’t go into detail about her reasons for disliking all this attention, she emphasized that this world was crazy and also not worth compromising her mental health. She wants to trade it all for what she called a normal life.
Much Needed Break
Filming for Game of Thrones had ended in 2018, which means it has been more than a year since the stars of the show worked on it.
This has offered Williams a much-needed break, however, according to Williams, she developed a lot of sadness during this time as well.
Her troubles stemmed from a dissatisfaction with herself, as she realized she was not genuinely happy with doing what she did and, according to her, she was simply ignoring this dissatisfaction for a very long time.
However, Williams’ fans should not be too worried for the actress’ emotional well-being because, according to her, she is certainly making progress in this area by making a conscious effort to be more herself when out in public.
Williams said that previously she had been maintaining a different persona for public appearances and had never really shown her true self.
Now, she is being more of herself when doing interviews or making public appearances, and, as a result, she has felt much more relaxed with everything. In fact, she even went as far as to say that now she has started having fun with it all.
