In the recent Trooping the Colour, baby Archie Harrison was not present because he was just a month old during the birthday celebration of his great grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II.
As per sources, former “Suits” actress Meghan Markle had a hard time leaving her bundle of joy behind for the occasion, proving that mom guilt is all too real.
Mom’s Guilt
However, this feeling doesn’t just happen to royal moms as it can happen to anyone. Coincidentally, the Duchess of Sussex’s former co-star in “Suits,” a USA legal-drama series, Gina Torres, who played the tough Jessica Pearson, had also felt the guilt with her child.
If you are not sure if you have ever experienced this type of guilt, it’s when we feel we are not doing enough for our kids, our jobs prevent us from attending to our child’s needs, or when we disappoint our kids for not buying anything they want.
Gina, as much as terrifying she looks in her show, is just like any of us who, at some point, have felt guilty about our kids.
The 50-year-old has her plate full – she will star in the upcoming “Pearson,” which centers on her previous character, which is kind of a big deal since it’s the only “Suits” spin-off. Plus, she is also an executive producer of the show, and being a showrunner and an actor at the same time takes an excellent juggling skill.
New Show, Busy Schedule
The actress, who shares a 12-year-old daughter, Delilah, with ex Laurence Fishburne, admitted she felt worried about leaving her child for work once more because she had been at home with her for quite some time now.
Gina narrated she explained to the girl that things are going to be different now that she has a new project, but that she wanted the child to visit her on the set because she likes to see her.
Gina revealed that she didn’t want her kid to feel sideswiped, but thankfully, Delilah understands her mom’s profession. In fact, the child even expressed how proud she was of her mother for her new show.
It’s not at all easy, the actress said, because you want to be all the things every single time, which is really not possible. The celebrity also believes that it is more crucial for kids to see rather than to just hear because that gives permission for them to copy what you had done.
‘Not a Good Mom’
In July last year, professional tennis player Serena Williams shared to the world that her daughter Alexis Olympia took her first steps, but she didn’t witness this as she was training.
Later on, she admitted that she felt she wasn’t a good mother, with a lot of people chiming in that they also felt the same way. According to a Pew Research Center survey, there are lesser moms who want to work full-time, from 32 percent in 1997 to just 21 percent in 2007.
