While the Kardashian-Jenner clan’s popularity seems likely to stay for quite some time, the controversy and criticisms will never stop as well. It’s one of the downsides of being famous, but it can also prove to be a powerful platform to share advocacy.
Being a member of the reality family means that a lot of people watch what you’re doing, while others carefully wait for the perfect moment to point out your mistakes.
Speedy Face Washing
The family had always stirred controversy, but recently, it was model Kendall Jenner who had faced backlash after she took to her Instagram to share to her more than 112 million followers her face washing routine.
This was obviously in partnership with Proactiv, the skincare brand she is endorsing and earned flak for during the “big” reveal.
Fans couldn’t help but notice something amiss with her routine, it seemed … too speedy. A high-profile model like her is no doubt exposed to loads of cosmetics, but with just 10-seconds of washing, it might not even be enough to remove layers of make-up.
Kendall said that this was her daily routine, which all the more became a reason to believe that this was how she regularly washes her face.
A Little Familiar
Celebrities sharing their skincare routines are nothing new, but Kendall’s was just downright fast. Sounds familiar, you might say, and that’s because it is just a repetition of the mistake done by no other than her younger sister Kylie Jenner.
People can’t get enough of how reminiscent the video was, while some wondered if this runs in the family. A competition, perhaps, or just how they had been doing their daily routine.
But, is the duration of washing your face really important? Apparently, yes. Dermatologists suggest doing this between 20 seconds to a minute, which means Kendall’s 10-second routine certainly was too fast.
Expert Sonam Yadav explained that washing too quick may render your product ineffective, so it is best you let it stay on your face for the product to really work.
Kylie’s Hullabaloo
Kylie, the youngest self-made billionaire, recently dipped her toes onto the skincare industry, which isn’t far from her original business, cosmetics.
That’s why it’s not at all surprising that she had tapped into this, fans could have seen this coming from a mile. As expected, the 21-year-old also took to the photo-sharing platform to promote and give a tutorial of her new products.
However, Kylie was immediately targeted after washing her face for just 6 to 8 seconds!
After that, she takes a towel and wiped her face, but eagle-eyed fans quickly noticed how the towel was filled with foundation — this meant that she didn’t wash all the make-up and dirt away and that she didn’t wash her face before the tutorial.
