“Pokemon: Detective Pikachu” was not the only thing that premiered recently, it was also the time to make a big announcement. Stepping out with husband Ryan Reynolds, who voiced the yellow pocket monster in the Rob Letterman-directed film, Blake Lively revealed she was pregnant with their third baby.
Per usual, the “Gossip Girl” alum impressed in a yellow Retrofete dress that accentuated her baby bump while still looking chic.
Big Family
The couple shares two daughters, James, 4, and Inez, 2, and according to a source, Blake and Ryan are both excited for baby No. 3. It seems that the Reynolds family just keep growing bigger, which was what the parents may have wanted all along, at least according to their previous interviews. In 2012, the stunner admitted she wanted to have a big family, jesting that she would have 30 children if she could.
Four years after that interview, Blake reiterated her earlier statement by explaining that she and her husband both came from a family of five and four kids, respectively, so you can call them breeders.
But with their growing family and busy schedules, how do things work? Ryan said that he and his wife, who had been notoriously savage with each other on social media, work as one in the sense that they have unity – they decided that they can’t accept movies at the same time. This also meant bringing along the whole family in different places because what matters most is that they are together.
Boy or Girl?
Meanwhile, is it too early to predict whether the bun in the oven is a boy and a girl? Perhaps fans could take a hint of what Blake was wearing, a yellow dress, but the color is such a gender-neutral one and it might be in support of Pikachu.
If you’re going to ask the patriarch if he wanted a boy because he is clearly outnumbered by all the ladies in his family, probably not. In a 2016 interview, the 42-year-old comedian referred to having daughters as a dream come true and quipped that he would be happy if he would ever have nine girls.
Privacy
Despite the couple, who met on the set of the 2011 superhero film “Green Lantern” where they were paired opposite each other, being open about details on their kids, they remain on guard of the children’s privacy.
Being celebrities may mean cameras up in their faces every time they go out, but Blake revealed that she and Ryan try their hardest to raise their offspring as normal of an upbringing as they can. In fact, the matriarch said she is very protective of the family’s privacy.
Inez and James obviously did not make an appearance in the Tokyo premiere of “Pokemon: Detective Pikachu” but there is one high-profile event where their parents tagged them along – in 2016 when their dad received his star on the Walk of Fame. It was indeed a family affair and their kids obviously stole the show from the “Deadpool” actor.
