Nobody has a perfect life, but if we were to say who has gotten closest to that, it would probably be Jennifer Lopez. She is turning 50 in July but there’s not a hint that she is aging, her love life is blossoming more than ever, she is friends with her ex-husband whom she shares two wonderful kids, her body is probably the most ripped you can see, and she can rock every look she wishes to don every appearance.
Jenny from the Block is also a known style icon that sets trends not just in fitness but also in fashion.
Throughout the years, we’ve all seen her brazenly change up her looks, but while her outfits and hairstyles are ever dynamic, one thing remains constant – her hair always seemed healthy, which is kind of a shocker, especially since celebrities are always exposed to loads of styling products and chemicals. Thankfully, she is generous enough to share what she’s been doing to keep her mane in tip-top condition.
Relaxed on Days-Off
On red carpets, you have seen her in long ponytails, high buns, and sleek wet-look hairstyle, but you won’t likely see her donning too many products during her days off. Instead of the heavy hairspray going on, you will bump into Jennifer in her casual strolls or at the airport with rather a relaxed bun or ponytails, and sometimes even with a headscarf or a hat to accessorize.
You can say the same about makeup. The “Selena” star obviously has one of the most radiant skins among celebrities her age and one of her secrets in maintaining one is to wear less when there’s no work. Just head on over to her Instagram account and you will likely see her bare-faced selfie that may make you rethink just how young she’s been looking.
Drastic Changes
What Jennifer imagines, Jennifer does – is what might encapsulate her decision to don a shoulder-grazing haircut in the 2018 Met Gala. The much-awaited event is an opportunity to impress with your look, which usually takes months of planning beforehand. But for the songstress, she proves that the last minute drastic changes can make a look even more beautiful.
Before the event, Jennifer had long locks, which was probably why many were in awe when she debuted her new hairstyle. According to Lorenzo Martin, her hairstylist, the decision was just made an hour and a half before she went to grace the event, which was a very risky move. But the fresh cut really did complement her outfit and the whole vibe of her look.
Touch-Ups
While Jennifer may look perfect, she’s just human like any of us. In fact, at just 23, she already had gray hairs, which prompted her to do root touch-ups every now and then. In an interview, the “Second Act” actress revealed she would someday try letting these grow out and see how it will look on her.
Speaking of her hair color, Jennifer has previously wowed us with different shades of strands, but we would often see her honey blonde highlights. When she was still starting out her career, she used to rock a dark brown mane, but it was actually famous colorist Rita Hazan who suggested a lighter color for her to match her skin tone and personality. Voila! People went gaga for it!
