The exponential growth of social media has benefitted a lot of businesses around the world as they are now able to connect with their customers in a more effective manner by investing a lot less than what they were investing through advertising on traditional mediums such as TV or print.
Celebrities have also become very active on social media platforms to enhance their presence, building up their brand image by posting regular updates about the happenings of their life. But for Denise Richards, social media has proven to be a lifesaver.
Apparently, Richards is in the habit of reading what fans of the show The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills have to say about her, and thankfully too as she discovered a very important fact about her own physical health.
According to her, a few fans had noticed that her thyroid was unusually enlarged as she appeared on one of the episodes of her show, something Richards was not concerned about at all as she had not noticed this at all before it was pointed out.
Getting Rid Of Gluten
After figuring out that something was definitely wrong, Richards decided to make some changes, particularly to her diet. According to her, she got rid of all the gluten that she was previously consuming, and now she has seen some amazing results even though it has only been a little while that she has been eating gluten-free meals.
Richards has revealed that now her thyroid is in a much better state, which has made her realize even more clearly that gluten is a very toxic substance that we should not be eating at all.
A Bigger-Than-Normal Thyroid
In scientific terms, a thyroid that has increased in size is called a goiter, and although a goiter itself does not pose any danger to human health, it can still cause some noticeable discomfort which becomes apparent whenever one swallows or coughs.
However, one should always get the thyroid checked out by a medical professional if it looks bigger than normal because it could very well indicate a much more serious issue as the root cause, such as Graves’ disease or Hashimoto’s disease, or perhaps cancer of the thyroid.
The problem of goiters has more of a chance of inflicting women as compared to men, and those women who have crossed the age of 40 are at an even bigger risk.
However, there is nothing to worry about as goiters can easily be treated if you take the proper medication which would allow your hormones to normalize, or for more serious cases a minor surgery can take care of the problem. Some cases don’t even require any treatment as the goiter goes away on its own, or like Richards has done, by making a few changes to your lifestyle.
Although Richard has claimed that her goiter has healed a bit now that she has shifted to a diet that is gluten-free, there is not much scientific evidence to back up this claim. But, one study back in 2018 did draw out a connection between the two, so perhaps it can help you as well.
