Even after making a conscious effort, we cannot (or don’t want to) imagine a time when Simon Cowell was not a major part of the reality entertainment industry.
While many may not associate Cowell for the music that he made himself back in the 80s, everyone certainly remembers the extraordinary and extremely entertaining way Simon conducted himself on the once-hit talent show, American Idol.
Although the popularity of American Idol seems to have faded away with time, mostly due to the entrance of other, more popular singing shows such as The Voice, and the inability of the show to adapt and change with time, Simon seems to have increased his fame and fortune.
As American Idol waned in viewership, Cowell started appearing on America’s Got Talent, and although this time he seems to be maintaining a much softer persona, he is still the toughest judge on the show.
We thought American Idol would be his final stint, but we were clearly, very wrong. And now it seems as though Cowell would be delivering us entertaining content for many years to come.
While speaking with Terri Seymour, who is the host on Extra, Simon revealed that he had been taking much better care of his physical health than in the past, and as a result of his efforts he had recently lost an impressive around 20 pounds in weight.
This is amazing considering that Cowell is about to turn 60 years old and losing weight at this age is certainly a monumental task.
Cowell was determined to become the fittest he could possibly become, and apparently, his staircase incident back in 2017 seems to have triggered his desire to bring about significant changes to his lifestyle in order to improve his overall health.
Falling Down And Getting Back Up
According to an interview which Cowell gave to The Sun, the experience of falling down the staircase, and then lying on the ground after having fainted from the fall, reminded him of the importance of good physical health especially since he is also responsible for taking care of his children.
Another concerning bit for Simon from this experience was the fact that he most likely fainted because his blood pressure dropped below normal levels, and this obviously caused him to think very deeply about the changes he needed to make in order to maintain normal blood pressure.
You must be wondering how Simon managed to lose so much weight in just a couple of years, and apparently, it’s all thanks to an entirely vegan diet that he has been consuming.
According to Simon, the foods which were primarily responsible for all the extra weight he had been carrying on his body included meat and dairy products, and also anything containing wheat and sugar.
Of course, one would expect only the peak of self-esteem from Cowell, and while rating himself on a scale of 1 to 10 to measure his handsomeness, he gave his pre-diet self an 8 and his post-diet self a solid 11, and we agree.
