Summer is around the corner and you know what that means: it’s bikini and trunks season! Although most of us are anticipating warmer days to lounge by the pool, it’s time to face the fact that we need to ready our bodies as well.
However, it is easier said than done, as you would know by now, but as much as you need it badly, it is best that you don’t try diets that keep sprouting everywhere just because of your favorite celebrity endorsed it. Sometimes, even they would later learn that one eating plan is not the best for them.
Adopting Veganism for a Role
Cue in Anne Hathaway, an award-winning actress who nobody wouldn’t know at this age, who decided to adopt veganism almost 10 years ago as preparation for her Fantine portrayal in the 2012 musical film “Les Miserables,” where she lost a significant amount of weight.
She stayed faithful to the diet up to the movie “Dark Knight Rises,” where she had to fit in a slinky Catwoman costume. The following years she had been nothing but a champion for veganism, even during her wedding to Adam Shulman, where she had a vegan banquet.
But two years later, Anne had to let go of what made her successfully lose weight… and it’s because of Matt Damon. It all started when she, Adam, and Matt were at a Michelin-starred restaurant in Reykjavik, Iceland, their set location for the 2014 sci-fi film “Interstellar.”
Matt said he was having what the chef will serve, which placed pressure on the lady, who was then thinking of a way to maintain her veganism without causing too much trouble.
‘Computer Rebooted’
So, what Anne did was to ask if the fish was local, to which the staff said was from a nearby fjord. To cut the long story short, she ended up getting a salmon and after which, she said she felt that her brain rebooted just like a computer – the start of straying from her vegan ways.
But Matt’s unconscious strain on Anne may have done her good, after all. In an interview with Harper’s Bazaar, she revealed that her previous lifestyle made it hard for her to perform, especially during the “Interstellar” shoot where she had to wear a 40-pound suit.
Slamming Body-Shamers
Last year, the 36-year-old “The Devil Wears Prada” star had the chance to eat everything she wanted and even more because she needed to gain weight for a role.
Knowing that the ever-so relentless critics would come after her, she announced the reason for the weight gain on Instagram. To be fair Anne has been shunning body-shamers in creative ways and has been shrugging unsolicited comments about her body.
Plus, it pays to be surrounded by supportive women as well. Anne narrated how she felt good about herself while filming alongside Rihanna, Cate Blanchett, and Sandra Bullock, who had been nothing but wonderful to her in the film “Ocean’s 8.”
